We believe that God has called Hillsboro Vineyard to show God’s love to the community in a practical way. We believe that God has called us to show His mercy to those who are in need. One of our favorite scriptures is Matthew 25:34-40.
“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hundry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me seomthing to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’
The the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed your, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you?” When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’
The King will reply, ‘I tell you the truth, what4ever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.’”
We do major outreaches during the Holiday season. At Thanksgiving, we provided a complete Thanksgiving dinner and additional groceries to ten families in Hillsboro, Cornelius, and Forest Grove. At Christmas, we were able to provide gifts and Christmas dinner for ten families in Hillsboro. In addition, we are able to provide free clothing and groceries to families in need in Hillsboro.
We also have a trailer that we call "THE OUTPOST" that enables us to go directly to apartment complexes and give away clothing and/or food.
